VIDEO INTERCOM SYSTEM

One of our more recently acquired contracts involves working closely with the local housing associations around Powys. They were seeing frequent callouts to fix dated, old intercom systems that were certainly not functioning as reliably as they once were. It was becoming an expensive task to have an engineer attend site to fix the intercom system on an almost weekly basis.

The brief was to find a new solution but one that could function using the existing wiring. Furthermore, it was requested that the new intercom system should be a video intercom system to give the tenants opportunity to see who is at the property before accepting or unlocking a door.

Each building had eight individual flats to service, and each building had two points of entry.

After testing out the existing cabling (which was a bell-wire type) we found that there were no shorts or breaks and could then work on finding a solution. We chose Hikvision’s ‘Two Wire’ video intercom system for this project. A fantastic solution with some very nice features. We installed a new 7” touch screen monitor in each flat, and a brand new stainless steel call point selector at the entrance doors – along with a camera at each access point too giving the tenants peace of mind.
